Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Underarm Sweating)
Topical medications, oral medications, iontophoresis, and surgery have not proven to be very effective in the majority of patients suffering from Hyperhidrosis. We can consult and offer further treatment for this embarrassing condition.
Our treatments can be used to decrease sweating in the underarm, palms and feet. A number of small injections would be required.
After the injections, the skin may appear slightly bruised, and the skin will feel numb from the anaesthesia. After 2 hours, normal activities can be resumed including exercise. In approximately 3 to 5 days after the injections, a decrease of sweating in the treated areas will be noted. The effects usually last for approximately 6 to 9 months.
Follow up injections may be needed to achieve the desired affect but this will be discussed with you.
Before treatment, it will be necessary to remove the hair in your armpit by shaving or by using hair removing cream.
Do not use any deodorants or antiperspirants for 24 hours before treatment.
